MATHEMATICA is a software by which numerical and symbolic computations can be conducted and both two- and three-dimensional graphics, as well as counter and density plots can be produced. You can get the PC version of the program from CC-Library (Room No:109). You can also get the PC versions of the program source from the following address: ftp://ftp.cc.metu.edu.tr/PackagePrograms/Mathematica/ See How to Download Software from FTP.CC Notice: Users, who would connect to the FTP licensed software site with a browser other than Internet Explorer, shall write ftp://user_name@ftp.cc.metu.edu.tr to the address line. Mathematica on Unix Systems You can run Mathematica 6.0 on beluga, orca, rorqual, narwhal and and install Mathematica 7.0 and 8.0 in your Linux, Mac or Windows PC. You can start a MATHEMATICA session using one of the following commands: math (in a text-based environment) To run matlab on Unix servers and to use X-Windows environment please read Information about XWINPRO and Cygwin/XFree86. Frequently Asked Questions About Mathematica Q: I get a "license expired" / "license server could not be found" error, what is the solution? A: The license server has been recently (March 2009) moved to a new server, in the error message window click "password", select "network license" option as the license type and enter "144.122.202.4" as the license server name. Q: I am running out of disc space because of the files that are automatically created whenever I run the software and/or the output files that I myself have created, can you increase my quota limits? Q: I want to use the software from outside METU. How can I do it? * Information about XWINPRO and Cygwin/XFree86 Please contact swadmin |
