Administrative Support Group:
The mission of the Group: Within the frame work of the aims and targets of the Computer Center (CC); the group is responsible for; the realization of the procurement of the University informatics needs (software, hardware, services, etc.) and the internal requirements of the CC in accordance with the plans made and the resources allocated taking special care in using these resources efficiently and effectively; the storage and the registration of the equipment/devices acquired. The group runs the coordination of its responsibilities among the other groups of the CC and when the need arises supports other groups in the CC as well as units in and out of the University on behalf of the CC.

Informatics Group:
The mission of the Group: To present options by which METU users and those, in Turkey and around the world, who would like to know about METU can fulfill their need to get informed and to communicate via electronic media, using various tools. Web tools, electronic lists and forums are the most basic ones of these tools.

Technical Support Group:
The mission of the Group: The group is responsible for the management of the necessary hard and software of the servers, which make up the infrastructure of the central informatics services of the University, for their installation, operation, maintenance, security, backup and their uninterrupted functionality for 365 days/24 hours and for the technical support on the servers and the system software of the WWW, e-mail, lists, news groups, software packages (MARC, Mathematica, SPSS etc.), software development languages (C, C++, Pascal, Fortran, Visual tools), interactional deployment facilities (ftp, pop etc.) and other managerial applications (Library, Student Affairs, Personnel Office etc.) services residing on those servers.

User Support Group:
The mission of the Group: The group has made it a mission to; create an interface between the users and the other groups of the CC in order to facilitate the use of the informatics facilities presented by the CC with the user groups the CC is in interaction with; promote the services provided by the CC and to provide support and consultancy for those services; to give technical support and manage the common use computer rooms; provide computer support for the administrative units and projects determined by the CC; take part in the activities the CC is conducting about information security; give education on basic computer usage; prepare printed and electronic publication; give support on licenced software usage over all the campus; arrange informatics organization on behalf of the CC; devise, develop and organize computer coordinator mechanism already established throughout the campus in order to give a hand to the end users.

Smartcard Project Group:
The Mission of the Group: The group is responsible for the provision of the necessary hardware and software installation and smooth running of the infrastructure, upgrading of the applications in parallel with the technological developments in order to see to it that the METU students, personnel and other groups encompassed in the project can benefit from the services of application of access control (e-ID) and electronic cash (e-cash) provided in the University with the Smart Identification Cards that they possess. Besides its basic responsibilities, the group coordinates with the other groups within the CC for the actions it is in and conducts the necessary work with the units in the University on behalf of CC.

Managerial Support Services Team:
The Mission of the Team:The team is responsible for, hiring the man power for the CC and applyling "Human Resources" activities to improve the productivity and the efficiency of the existing personnel; collecting, evaluating, interpreting, reporting data, with the PlanQ Strategic Planning work and preparing the CC Annual Reports. Besides its basic responsibilities, the team coordinates with the other groups within the CC for the actions it is in and supports the units in the university on behalf of the CC.

Infrastructure Support Services Team:
The Mission of the Team: Acting as the technician for the CC groups; planning conducting work such as, periodic check ups, control, trouble shooting, procurement of new gear, preparing technical specifications regarding the substructure like UPS, air conditioning, security systems in the CC and the labs; for topics involving the CC, communicating with the University units like Construction Maintenance Unit, Building Affairs Technical Unit, Electricity and Telephony Unit, Heating Unit etc., making job demands and seeing to their completion are the duties of this team.
