Abaqus is a finite element analysis software which can solve non-linear problems. Software can be run on orca, rorqual, narwhal, beluga and tasman Unix servers and pc's (Windows and Linux). For running Abaqus on Unix servers, X-Windows* may be required. To run Abaqus on Unix servers following command should be typed: abaqus To install Abaqus on Windows or Linux platforms and have documentation, you can borrow CD/DVD's from CC Software library (METU CC Room no:109) or download them from licensed software ftp site ftp.cc.metu.edu.tr. ftp://ftp.cc.metu.edu.tr/PackagePrograms/Abaqus/ Notice: Users who would connect to the FTP licensed software site with a browser shall write ftp://user_name@ftp.cc.metu.edu.tr to the address line ("user_name" is your METU username). We recommend to write the ftp address to Windows Explorer's address bar to access ftp.cc. This enables downloading directories with subdirectories and files by usual copy paste commands. Due to the license agreements that are made, this site is accessible to METU personnel only. Installation of Abaqus (Windows/Linux): If you prefer to have documentation you should install it before the software. The documentation is not a requirement for the setup. To install Abaqus; as "Installation Type", "Product" option should be selected. When "License Server" is asked it should be entered as 1701@beluga.cc.metu.edu.tr . * Information about XWINPRO and Cygwin/XFree86 Please contact swadmin metu.edu.tr for your questions about Abaqus. |
